(original artwork description)
Inspired by Pablo Picasso’s “The Dream (Le Rêve)”, 1932 and his lover Marie-Thérèse. Originally purchased in 1941 by Victor and Sally Ganz of New York City for $7,000. This painting skyrocketed in value and sold at Christies in 1997 for $48.4 million, and then to Steve Wynn in 2001 for an estimated $60 million. To me, this painting represents the simplicity of beauty, the fallacy of being in love with love. Burning bright and appreciated by far too few.
