I shot this on my first visit to Wakayama prefecture in the south of Japan. The morning sea looks peaceful but it was really rough. The inhabitants of this village by the coast treat the sea not like a place to relax and have fun, but like a powerful entity that provides food but also needs to be feared.

The original is printed on Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Satin 310 gsm 100% Cotton white satin-finish paper and manually signed at the bottom.
