Description
This is a collage made with black and white and color prints form fashion man’s magazines and assembled with cello tape.
The original measurements are 30 x 40 cm. During the collage process I often come up with a musical theme that obsesses me and sometimes becomes the title of the piece. In this case the eighties song of FR David.
Fighting racism is one of the subjects that concerns me and that resurfaces my work. Here is a cubistic portrait using several faces parts and showing a black man who seems in pain or trying to say something.
I used cello tape instead of glue like recomposing a portrait which had been torn up.
On the larger versions you may see dust and weft of the prints used. this is intended and is part of the original work. However, the printable version have been retouched by the artist to erase some unwanted elements. This is color work but using différents tones of black and white prints: Some are more beige, greenish or bluish…
